Q) Is there any subsidy or funding provided by the University ?
A) Sorry, no. But we will arrange home stay accommodation for free, instead
of financial aid.
Q) Does the program offer any support for visas?
A) Yes, we will be able to send you a letter giving the reason for the
invitation and an itinerary, if the Japanese Embassy/Consulate asks you
for this.
Please note that it will take 1-2 weeks to obtain a visa after you have
applied.
Q) Does the homestay accommodation include meals?
A) It basically includes breakfast. And many families will prepare dinner
as well. But you must be responsible for your lunch.
Q) What are the options available for accommodation?
A) We can offer only a home stay. If you would like to stay at hotel or
other location, you can do it at your own expense. In that case, we will
be able to give hotel information in Hiroshima.
Q) I hope to find out the daily transportation fee to your University from
my host family.
A) It will be 800 to 1500 yen a day.
Q) Could I find out from you the expected expenditure for the program?
A) You must provide the travel expense to and from Hiroshima, daily transportation
fees (800-1500 yen a day), and daily lunch (500 yen a day).
And if you dine out, it will cost approximately 1000 - 3000 yen for dinner
and 500 - 1500yen for lunch.
In addition, there are some extracurricular activities like a barbecue
party. You need to pay about 1000 - 3000yen at each event if you participate
in.
Q) Can I access the Internet in Hiroshima?
A) Yes, Hiroshima City University has an Internet room. We will give you
an account and password and you can access the Internet.
