Scholarship Information
General Info
Hiroshima City University is pleased to announce that a limited number
of scholarships are available for overseas candidates to the 2013 Hiroshima
and Peace Program. The amount of each available scholarship is 80,000 JPY.
Eligible students are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility is based on the following criteria:
1. There must be an established diplomatic relationship between Japan and
the nation of the applicant.
2. Applicants must be from overseas institutions of higher education with established, formal academic exchange agreements with Hiroshima City University or from associate organizations whose faculty members collaborate with Hiroshima City University faculty members and researchers in academic fields related to the Hiroshima and Peace Program.
3. Applicants must have excellent academic records and must not have any
criminal background. Applicants for this scholarship must submit transcripts
on time. Submission of false transcripts or any other documents related
to admission and financial aid is strictly prohibited. Failure to submit
truthful documents may result in serious consequences including, but not
limited to, dismissal from the Hiroshima and Peace Program and/or denial
of earned credit, repayment to Hiroshima City University for the amount
of scholarship awarded, and criminal prosecution.
4. Applicants must be in need of financial assistance in order to attend
the 2013 Hiroshima and Peace Program.
5. Applicants must leave Japan after the program to pursue the remainder of their studies and/or degrees at their home institutions.
6. Other financial assistance received must not exceed 80,000 JPY or its
equivalent.
7. Applicants are required to attend the 2013 Hiroshima and Peace Program
completely and to stay in Hiroshima for the full period in order to receive
financial assistance.
Those who fail to meet these conditions will be required to repay Hiroshima
City University for the amount of scholarship awarded.
Prospective applicants interested in receiving the scholarship must send
electronically all documents indicated in the “List of Application Documents”
to Hiroshima-and-Peace@office.hiroshima-cu.ac.jp.
The deadline for Scholarship application is 14 June 2013.

Please keep in mind that the Hiroshima and Peace Committee will award scholarships
based on the conditions specified above. Due to limited availability, only
qualified students will be selected as recipients.
The List of Application Documents
Applicants for the grant must send the following materials electronically to
Hiroshima-and-Peace@office.hiroshima-cu.ac.jp.
Please keep the original copies of the documents you email to us since successful applicants will be required to submit hard copies of all the original documents.

3. Grade Point Average (GPA)
Please submit one set of the following documents (A or B or C or D). The
documents are listed in the order of our preference. We prefer to receive
one of the documents listed under “A.”
> A. A certified copy of your university transcripts (official record of your grades) reflecting your GPA or an official record of your GPA from the previous year
> B. A certificate or official record of your GPA from the previous
semester (if “A” is unavailable)
> C. Transcripts listing your grades from the previous academic year
(if “A” and “B” are unavailable)
> D. A grade report from the previous semester (if “A”, “B”, “C” are
unavailable)
