Admission Policy
An interdisciplinary approach is required to address the complex challenges facing us today both locally and internationally. In the Faculty of International Studies, we aim to provide students with deep knowledge and broad perspectives to help them actively contribute to promoting peace and sustainability at local and international levels. Based on diploma and curriculum policies, applicants to our program should possess the following qualities:

Interest and Desire
– Interest and desire to understand and pursue solutions to current problems affecting local and international communities.

Knowledge and Skills
– Basic knowledge and skills necessary to study specialized fields in the Faculty.
– Basic knowledge and language ability, including foreign languages.

Power of Critical Thinking, Judgment, and Expression
– Critical thinking to form opinions based on facts about social issues.
– Ability to express ideas in Japanese and foreign languages.

Independence and Cooperation
– Eagerness to pursue learning with enthusiasm, including study abroad and various activities at the university.
– Ability to collaborate with people of diverse opinions and backgrounds in order to solve challenges facing local and international communities.
Educational Concept
To accommodate students’ individual interests and needs, the Faculty prioritizes the following concepts:

Interdisciplinary Education
While students have the opportunity to focus on a specialized field of study, they are also encouraged to study from an interdisciplinary curriculum.

Five Study Programs
The Faculty offers five complementary programs which allow students to graduate possessing a broad knowledge.

Small Class Seminars
Students attend small class seminars which allow for meaningful exchanges of opinions and ideas between students and faculty.

Support System
The Faculty assists students with academic and non-academic issues. In addition, they are involved in student organizations and extracurricular groups.
